Questions to ask a daycare provider

Basics: A good home daycare provider is licensed by your state (and possibly accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care), has been in business for a while, and has clear rules and regulations, a firm sick-child policy, and emergency backup care.

How long have you been in business?
Do you have a current state license?
Do you have other accreditations? yes / no And if so, what are they?

How many children do you enroll at one time?
Do you have space for my child? yes / no
If not, can we get on a waiting list, and how long is it?
